Roosevelt's legacy
Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s unique and bold leadership was in some aspects a “test” of letting the government control the economy in an effort to steer it in its desired direction, and in many later historian's opinions, the beginning of the end of the Great Depression. Roosevelt’s presidency was in many ways, unique. Whether it’s looking at it from a political standpoint, looking at Roosevelt as a person, or looking at all of the peoples’ lives that were affected during his time as president, one would learn that Roosevelt did what many thought was aggressive, history changing, and venturing into “unchartered territory” with his new ideas. Roosevelt stood his ground to achieve the goal of ending the Great Depression, which ultimately has left a legacy of jobs, laws, and political lessons.
"Out of every crisis, every tribulation, every disaster, mankind rises with some share of greater knowledge, of higher decency, of purer purpose." - Franklin Delano Roosevelt
