Many people argue that Roosevelt didn't end the Great Depression and claim World War II did. That was the time Roosevelt lifted the laws controlling the economy, enabling businesses to mass produce supplies for the war. It is true that the economy went back to its former economic state during the first few months of war. But when Roosevelt created the New Deal programs, about 35% of America were unemployed. In the final year with all policies in place, the unemployment rate had dropped to around 21%. This justifies that Roosevelt might not have ended the Great Depression, but he created jobs and helped improve the quality of life for millions of Americans.
